It's Back...

1-2 apples, every day, starting October 28th.

Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp, Granny Smith; what kind of apple person are you? Rally behind your favorite type of apple. Eat it or one of its relatives every day and you are well on your way to becoming the victor of Apple a Day!

Background

In 2012, Apple a Day received overwhelming support for its first year at the School District of Palm Beach County. Thousands participated at over 120 locations submitting over 4,000 pictures of responsible apple consumption. The 2012 Apple a Day wellness challenge was won by Intensive Transition South (Team Challenge) and Glenda Williams (Individual Challenge).

The competition for the most recent Apple a Day challenge was crisp. The first week went to Palm Beach Public, separated by less than a point from Melaleuca Elementary. Equestrian Trails Elementary surged ahead to win Week #2. The third and final week was taken by Student Intervention Services, but Palm Beach Public never fell from the Top 5. In the end, consistency and persistence paid off for Palm Beach Public who became the champions of Apple a Day ’14. They joined an elite group, including Intensive Transition South (’12) and Palm Beach Central High School (’13). 2014's MVP was Linda Deese of Highland Elementary. She stood atop the Honor Roll, earning the most individual points. Her intensity and creativity were appleauded!
